  • Rev. Chad Smith

    Founder/Pastor

    Chad grew up in Memphis, TN and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a BA in History. It was during his time in Knoxville in the late 90's that he fell in love with the city of Asheville. Chad went on to receive a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary and has been involved in ordained ministry since 2007. He and his family have lived in Asheville since 2016. He absolutely loves the music and food scenes, and his favorite pass time is Christian Mysticism and Saturday Night Live. Chad and his wife Jennifer have been married since 2000, and they have three children: Amelia (‘03), Ben (‘06) & Elliott (‘10).

  • Kim Boggie

    Peer Support Specialist

    Kim was born and raised in Asheville, NC, and attended high school and college here. She and her wife Lynne have 2 amazing adult children and 2 beautiful grandsons.

    They enjoy trying new restaurants, going to the river, camping with their grandsons, and bluegrass music. 

    After many years in the dental field, she has found her passion as a peer support specialist at House of Mercy. Being in recovery herself and battling alcoholism, including incarceration, her heart’s desire is to help those transitioning out of WCCW with peer support. She and Lynne have truly found their faith family at HoM.

  • Cam King

    Director for Worship Arts

    Cam has many years of experience leading worship and working in ministry. He's directed worship for several college ministries and churches in multiple states. He moved from West Virginia to Asheville with his wife Sarah and four kids in 2016 for a new adventure, and became a full time mailman in 2019. Cam still kept finding himself drawn to music and leadership in churches, and his time at House of Mercy has been no different. He has true joy and enthusiasm while leading, but is also no stranger to life’s grief and sorrow. Cam’s passion inspires others to give of themselves more freely. He loves coffee in the morning, beer in the evening, and connecting in the “eternal now” with all the people God has made.
